Creative Aging
Creative Aging is a program for seniors in our communities that advances the vital relationship between creative expression and healthy aging for participants ages 55 and up through classes and workshops in visual arts, dance, and music. We seek to especially serve seniors with limited resources so they too have access to the benefits of the arts.
Gallery 37
Gallery 37 is West Valley Art Council's award-winning youth public art program. Over the summer, high school juniors and seniors work with a professional artist to design, develop and install a permanent piece of public art for a West Valley city. Students receive FREE college credits in partnership with Estrella Mountain Community College and a cash stipend for their work.
Professional Development
WVAC connects schools with expert teaching artists and other creative professionals in music, visual arts, and general arts education to further support West Valley students. The ongoing music and arts training we provide to teachers trickles back into classrooms and improves the way children learn and experience the arts.
Live Concerts
WVAC brings live music and performance arts shows to the Arts HQ Gallery in Surprise, and to other venues around the region. We launched our Lunchtime Theater concert series as well as evening performances - which include everything from opera to jazz - to plays and comedy nights!
IMPRINT: Multicultural Programming
WVAC's IMPRINT Multicultural Programming is a series of annual exhibitions, workshops, lectures, and celebrations recognizing artists of color in and around the valley. This program seeks to highlight an celebrate their significant contributions to our collective culture and communities, and to provide opportunities to engage with diverse perspectives, places, and heritage.
